（一）咏柳忆别

恨青青画桥东畔柳，

曾祖送[1]少年游。

散晴雪杨花清昼，

又一场心事悠悠。

翠丝长不系雕鞍，

碧云寒空掩珠楼。

揎[2]罗袖试将纤玉手，

绾[3]东风摇损轻柔。

同心方胜[4]结，

缨络绣文球[5]。

注释：

[1]祖送：饯行，送别。祖：指古人出行前祭祀的路神。

[2]揎：卷起。

[3]绾：同“挽”，系住。

[4]同心方胜：以两块斜方形彩绸折成的心形饰物。

[5]缨络绣文球：古代妇女的头饰，是用线结成的，下面坠有绣着花纹的布球。

Tune: Meeting of Good Friends

Qiao Ji

（I）Parting under Willows Recalled

East of the bridge we do not like the willows green.

How many parting lovers they have seen!

Willow down wafts like snow on sunny day,

My heart is gone with it far, far away.

The willow twigs, though long, cannot retain

His parting steed; green clouds veil the bower in vain.

I roll up my sleeves and pluck with my hands fair

A tender sprig swaying in the east wind, where

I see two hearts into a knot are tied

And an embroidered ball hangs by the side.

（二）逍遥乐

绾不成鸳鸯双扣，

空惊散梢头

一双锦鸠。

何处忘忧？

听枝上数声黄栗留[1]，

怕不[2]弄春娇巧啭歌喉？

惊回好梦，

题起离情，

唤醒闲愁。

注释：

[1]黄栗留：黄鹂。

[2]怕不：岂不是。

（II）Tune: Joy of Freedom

Now I cannot tie a lovebirds’ knot,

But startle a pair of birds in love

On the tip of the tree above.

How can my grief be forgot?

I listen to golden orioles sing,

They remind me of the sweet songs of spring.

But I’m afraid they would break

Your dream and wake

Your parting grief on the green leaf.

（三）醋葫芦

雨晴珠泪收，

烟颦翠黛羞[1]。

殢[2]风流还自怨风流。

病多不奈秋，

未秋来早先消瘦。

晓风残月在帘钩。

注释：

[1]烟颦翠黛羞：女子皱眉的样子。颦：皱眉。翠黛：女子的眉毛。

[2]殢：留恋。

（III）Tune: A Gourd of Vinegar

My tears are dried after the rain,

My frowning eyebrows shy remain,

Loving and complaining of the flowing breeze.

Ill in autumn, how can I feel at ease?

Before autumn comes, how languid I look!

Like the waning moon hanging on the hook.

（四）浪里来煞

不要你护雕阑花甃[1]香，

荫苍苔石径幽，

只要你盼行人

终日替我凝眸，

只要你重温灞陵[2]别后酒。

如今时候，

只要向绿阴深处缆归舟。

注释：

[1]花甃：雕花的井壁。

[2]灞陵：在长安东郊的灞水边上，人们送别常常送到灞桥，折柳赠别。

（IV）Epilogue: Coming with Waves

I don’t want you to lean on fragrant balustrade,

Or stand on mossy, stony path in the green shade.

I want you to gaze afar and wait all day long,

To remember our farewell feast and farewell song.

As for today,

I want you to tie your boat in the green shade,

When you return from far away.
