🎈parapet是名词，指“（矮）护墙”，在此含义基础上，引申出下列用法：

冒险……put one’s head above the parapet

避免冒险……keep one’s head below the parapet

🎈充满、载满…be laden with…

例句

🎈看这句译文，我们发现“传来”在参考译文中虽找不到from之类的对应翻译，但这层含义却已经体现出来了，更显朦胧美。

她一点儿也不饿，还要再过几小时才会感到饿，那时候垃圾箱里自会有人家扔掉的东西。

She is not hungry. It will be a few hours before she begins to feel hungry and then there will be the throwaway stuff in the bins.

🎈积累before用法。我们看到这个词，很有可能会条件反射先将before…这一结构先译出，译作“在…之前”。但before作为表示时间/事件先后的词，直接顺着时间逻辑按“然后”之意翻译即可。

天空湛蓝湛蓝的，一丝云彩也没有，连天边的颜色都不见淡下去。

🎈对于句中的azure和blue：azure专指天空蔚蓝（可以有白云），而blue则范围更广，就是指纯色蓝（即一丝云彩也没有）

🎈fortnight指两周、十四天。有时“半月”的概念也可以用这个词表达。

🎈“舔着它”未译作lick，而译feel（感受）

🎈“别强忍着痛”译“Don’t be in pain”，并未出现“忍痛”之意。这个女牙医言下之意是：“牙疼就复诊。” “Don’t be in pain（别疼着）”也就是“别忍着疼不来复诊”。

女牙医把自己献给了无家可归者的烂牙，献给了无家可归者身上的臭味和污秽。她的好心肠很是让人费解。

The woman dentist has dedicated her existence to the rotten teeth of derelicts, to derelicts’ odour and filth. Her goodness is a great mystery.

🎈献身、把（时间、精力等）用于… dedicate…to…

例如

But you decide to dedicate your entire day to finish it.

但是你决定要花一整天来完成它。

她翻转双手，让阳光从不同的角度拂照着它们，并且微微抬起头，让脸的另一侧也能感受到阳光的温暖。

🎈注意译文中的catch一词，我们很难想到。（只是个人感受）不得不说，这个词使得文章文学气息更添一分：阳光普照大地，就像一个慈善的、心中满是爱意的神，不会丢弃任何一个需要光与热的生灵，所以会努力地catch them。这和上句的内容也相呼应。
