I laugh at you, the earth going round the sun,
我笑你绕太阳的地球，
For you can go round but once within a day and night;
一日夜只打得一个回旋；
I laugh at you, the moon going round the earth,
我笑你绕地球的月亮，
For you can’t always be full;
总不会永远团圆；
I laugh at you, myriads of stars, small or large,
我笑你千千万万大大小小的星球，
For you can never leave your orbits;
总跳不出自己的轨道线；
I laugh at you, the radio running thousands of miles in a second,
我笑你一秒钟行五十万里的无线电，
For you can’t run as fast as a flash of thought on my mind!
总比不上我区区的心头一念！
The flash of thought on my mind:
我这心头一念：
Comes at a time to Zhuganxiang, and another to Zhuganjian;
才从竹竿巷，忽到竹竿尖；
Comes for a moment on Hudson River, and for another by Cayuga Lake;
忽在赫贞江上，忽在凯约湖边；
If I was really deep in lovesickness,
我若真个害刻骨的相思，
it would go round the earth thirty million times in a minute!
便一分钟绕遍地球三千万转！
