晨和夜
Swirl around and inkbrush, become black characters
围着毛笔旋转，变成黑字
With mother’s instruction: “All is contained in this.

Diligent practice is the route to enduring art!”
雨抽打着一扇扇关闭的窗子
Rain lashes all the closed windows
和窗背后的脸谱
And masks made behind them
我带着同样的墨上路
I go journeying with the same kind of ink
我写着同样的字。
Heaven and sky, why the same meaning?
天和空，为什么意思相同？
Clouds laugh without giving answer
云笑而不答，
Sift down flake as large as goose down
投下鹅毛大雪。
Putting giant inksticks on exhibit
墓园展销一块块巨墨
All is contained in this
一切都在这里：名字，出生年月
An inkbrush reincarnated for a thousand years—I keep writing
我，一支轮回千年的笔，在写
The land exhibits characters written by the dead
大地展现死者写过的字
The sky gazes down upon them
天空俯身观览
