《乡村之夜》

Evening sunshine and distant hills
夕阳和远山
fold into a crescent moon
交叠成一弯新月
passing through an elm wood
在榆树林中穿行
the bird nest is empty
鸟巢空空
a path encircles the pond
小路绕过水塘
chasing a dog with a dirty coat
追着一只毛色肮脏的狗
up to the mud wall at the village entrance
撞在村头的土墙上
the bucket in the well sways gently
吊桶在井里轻轻摇荡
the clock is as still
钟和场院上的石碾
as the roller in the yard
一样沉静
dried wheat stalks stir uneasily
零落的麦秸骚动着
the sound of chewing from the stable
马厩里的咀嚼声
is full of threat
充满了威胁
a man’s long shadow
一个长长的人影
slips down the doorstep
从门前的石阶上滑过
firelight from a kitchen range
灶台里的火光
casts a ruddy glow on a woman’s arms
映红女人的手臂
and a chipped earthenware bowl
和缺口的瓦盆
