盍西村

杏花开候[1]不曾晴，

败尽游人兴。

红雪[2]飞来满芳径。

问春莺，

春莺无语风方定。

小蛮[3]有情，

夜凉人静，

唱彻醉翁亭。

注释：

[1]候：时候。

[2]红雪：飘落的杏花。

[3]小蛮：唐代诗人白居易有姬妾名小蛮，纤瘦美丽。后来，小蛮成为美貌歌姬的代称。

Since apricots bloomed, the weather drear

Has disappointed the sightseer.

Blooms fall like red snow over the fragrant way.

I ask the oriole where is spring;

It answers not and the wind dies away.

Hear the young songstress sing

When all are still in the cool night!

Only she sings for the old drinker out of sight.
