 金陵[1]故址

临故国，

认残碑，

伤心六朝如逝水。

物换星移，

城是人非，

今古一枰棋。

南柯梦一觉初回，

北邙坟[2]三尺荒堆。

四围山护绕，

几处树高低。

谁

曾赋黍离离[3]？

注释：

[1]金陵：南京，为六朝古都。

[2]北邙坟：邙山在河南洛阳市东北，汉朝以来，许多王公贵族埋葬于此，北邙山泛指墓地。

[3]黍离离：《诗经·黍离》有：“彼黍离离，彼稷之苗。行迈靡靡，中心摇摇。知我者谓我心忧，不知我者谓我何求。”这是抒发亡国之痛的名篇，黍离也就成为亡国之恨的代名词。黍：谷物的名称。离离：成排成行的样子。

Which mountains on four sides surround.

How many trees grow

High and low?

Who is grieved over the waste land!
