远城市人稠物穰，

近村居水色山光。

熏陶成野叟情，

铲削去时官样，

演习会牧歌樵唱。

老瓦盆边醉几场，

不撞入天罗地网。

I’d live far from the crowded market town,

and near green hills and blue rills up and down.

Cultivated into a wild man with hair grey,

I’d get rid of modern official way,

And learn to sing a shepherd’s or woodman’s song.

Drunk all day long,

Beside my earthenwares,

I would not fall into the mundane snares.
