惊回一枕当年梦，

渔唱起南津。

画屏云嶂[1]，

池塘春草，

无限销魂。

旧家应在，

梧桐覆井，

杨柳藏门。

闲身[2]空老，

孤篷听雨，

灯火江村。

[1]画屏云嶂：屏风上画着云和山。

[2]闲身：清闲之身。

Startled on my pillow from my dream

Of bygone years by fishing song at southern stream,

I see peak on peak veiled in clouds like a screen,

And pool on pool seem overgrown with grass green.

How much it grieves

My heart to think of my house of yore

Overshadowed by plane leaves.

With doors hidden amid willow trees.

At ease,

I am oldened in vain.

What can I do but listen to the rain

Or see flickering lights on river shore?
