有所思[1]

无名氏

有所思，乃在大海南。

何用[2]问遗[3]君？

双珠玳瑁簪，用玉绍缭[4]之。

闻君有他心，拉杂[5]摧烧之。

摧烧之，当风扬其灰。

从今以往，勿复相思，相思与君绝！[6]

鸡鸣狗吠[7]，兄嫂当知之。

妃呼豨！

秋风肃肃晨风飔，

东方须臾高知之。

注释：

[1] 有所思：指她所思念的那个人。

[2] 何用：何以。

[3] 遗：赠与。

[4] 绍缭：缠绕的意思。

[5] 拉杂：堆集。这句是说，听说情人另有所爱了，就把原来赠送给他的簪、玉、双珠堆集在一起砸碎，烧掉。

[6] 相思与君绝：与君断绝相思。

[7] 鸡鸣狗吠：古诗中常以“鸡鸣狗吠”借指男女幽会。

I long for one who has left me And gone to the south of the sea.

What shall I send to him as gift?

A pearled comb made

Of tortoise-shell ornated with jade.

When told he is untrue, I’m ill at ease.

I break and rift The comb, I shatter

It and burn it and scatter Its ashes to the breeze.

From now on I will never

Think of him who will sever

From me. But how can I forget the night!

When barking dogs or cockcrow might!

Awake my brother and his wife? I sigh and wail.

To what avail?

I hear the autumn wind so shrill

And pheasants trill,

But soon the sun will rise

And shine in eastern skies.
