朝发广莫门[1]，暮宿丹水山[2]。

左手弯繁弱[3]，右手挥龙渊[4]。

顾瞻望宫阙[5]，俯仰御[6]飞轩[7]。

据鞍[8]长叹息，泪下如流泉。

系马长松下，发鞍高岳头。

烈烈悲风起，泠泠涧水流。

挥手长相谢，哽咽不能言。

浮云为我结，归鸟为我旋。

去家日已远，安知存与亡？

慷慨穷林[9]中，抱膝独摧藏[10]。

麋鹿游我前，猿猴戏我侧。

资粮[11]既乏尽，薇蕨[12]安可食？

揽辔[13]命徒侣，吟啸绝岩中。

君子道微矣，夫子[14]故有穷。

惟昔李骞期[15]，寄在匈奴庭。

忠信反获罪，汉武不见明。

我欲竟[16]此曲，此曲悲且长。

弃置勿重陈，重陈令心伤！

[1] 广莫门：洛阳的北门。

[2] 丹水山：丹朱岭，丹水发源处，在今山西高平县。

[3] 繁弱：古代良弓名。

[4] 龙渊：古代宝剑名。

[5] 宫阙：这里指洛阳皇宫。

[6] 御：驾驶。

[7] 飞轩：飞驰的车子。

[8] 据鞍：靠着马鞍。

[9] 穷林：荒芜的树林。

[10] 摧藏：形容内心非常忧伤。

[11] 资粮：战资粮草。

[12] 薇蕨：野菜。

[13] 揽辔：执着马缰绳。

[14] 夫子：指孔子。这里以孔子绝粮的故事表达虽身处困境仍坚持操守的气节。

[15] 李：指李陵。骞期：延期。这里以李陵之事说明自己得不到朝廷信任的忧虑。

[16] 竟：完。

Riding the Wind

Liu Kun

At dawn from northern gate we go;

We reach Riverside Hill at night.

In my left hand I bend my bow;

I brandish my sword in my right.

I look back on the palace high;

My cab runs up and down the mountain.

Leaning on saddle, long I sigh;

My tears stream down like flowing fountain.

My steed unsaddled ‘neath pine-trees,

I tether it atop the hill.

So sad and drear blows autumn breeze;

In cold clear stream flows water chill.

Waving my hand, so sad I feel;

Sobbing, to speak I am not free.

The floating clouds seem to congeal;

The homing birds wheel round for me.

Farther away from home each day,

How long can I still play my part?

Inflamed in the wood on my way,

I stroke my knees with broken heart.

Before me to and fro deer run;

Monkeys and apes play by my side.

Since food resources have been done,

Could we live on ferns far and wide?

I order soldiers, reins in hand;

Among the crags I croon and roar.

His way not followed in this land,

What could be done by Master[1]poor?

I still remember General Li[2]

Captured by Huns with main and might,

And punished for his loyalty;

The emperor had no clear sight.

I try to finish this refrain,

So sad that I put it apart;

So long I wont’t sing it again,

For fear lest it should break my heart.
