At dusk the crows cast a cold gloom in the sky.
Newly green poolside willows look tender and fair.
If there were no parting grief before the eye,
I don’t believe men on earth would have white hair.

My heart is broken, how
Can my tears not be shed?
And lovesick now,
I mount again the little tower red.
Although I know the mountains have barred all from view,
How could I not lean on the rails and long for you?
