碧云天，

黄叶地。

秋色连波，

波上寒烟翠。

山映斜阳天接水。

芳草无情，

更在斜阳外。

黯乡魂，

追旅思[1]。

夜夜除非，

好梦留人睡。

明月楼高休独倚。

酒入愁肠，

化作相思泪。

[1]追旅思（sì）：撇不开羁旅的愁思。追，追随，这里有缠住不放的意思。旅思，旅居在外的愁思。思，心绪，情怀。

Emerald clouds above

And yellow leaves below,

O’er autumn-tinted waves, cold, green mists grow.

The sun slants o’er the hills, the waves blend with the sky,

Unfeeling grass grows sweet beyond the mountains high.

A homesick heart

Lost in thoughts deep,

Only sweet dreams each night can retain me in sleep.

Don’t lean alone on rails when the bright moon appears!

Wine in sad bowels would turn into nostalgic tears.

This is another lyric of Fan Zhongyan. The poet’s feeling merging with the autumn scene be-came nostalgia just as wine in his sad bowels turned into homesick tears.
