白朴

黄芦[1]岸白蘋[2]渡口，

绿杨堤红蓼[3]滩头。

虽无刎颈交[4]，

却有忘机友[5]。

点秋江白鹭沙鸥，

傲煞人间万户侯[6]，

不识字烟波钓叟。

注释：

[1]黄芦：枯黄的芦苇。

[2]白蘋：一种水草。

[3]红蓼：水边的草，花为浅红色。

[4]刎颈交：至死不渝的友情。

[5]忘机友：忘却机心，淡泊超然的朋友。

[6]万户侯：汉代的封制，指达官显贵。

The rivershore overgrown with yellow reed,

The ferry decorated with white duckweed,

The bank is shaded by willows green and the beach head

Adorned with knotweed red.

Although I have no life-long friends,

My companions conceive no evil ends.

The autumn river is dotted with gulls and herons white.

I look down on the lords proud of their might.

A fisherman old, I fish in mist and water cold.
