 微雪

无名氏

朔风寒吹下银沙，

蠹砌[1]穿帘，

拂柳惊鸦。

轻若鹅毛，

娇如柳絮，

瘦似梨花。

本应是怜贫困天教少洒，

止不过庆丰年众与农家。

数片琼葩，

点缀槎丫[2]。

孟浩然[3]容易寻梅，

陶学士不够烹茶。

注释：

[1]蠹砌：像蠹虫一样慢慢地腐蚀了脚下的台阶。

[2]槎丫：树枝。

[3]孟浩然：唐代诗人，他有雪天骑驴赏梅写诗的雅兴。

 Slight Snow

Anonymous

The northern wind blows snow down like silver sand,

It erodes the steps where I stand,

Passes through the screen, caresses willow trees,

And startles crows. It’s light as feather of geese,

As willow down it’s tender,

And as pear flower it’s slender.

Heaven pities the poor and sheds only snow slight,

To announce a bumper year to the farmers’ delight.

A few jade petals in full bloom

Adorn the branches of a tree.

It would be easier for the poet to seek mume;

It’s not enough for a scholar to brew his tea.
